Utopiastadt Coworking occupies a listed former railway station on Wuppertal's Nordbahntrasse — the same building it has called home since 2011, making it the city's first coworking space. The project is run by a non-profit urban laboratory focused on city development and sustainability, which shapes everything from its relaxed, conversational atmosphere to its coworking scholarships available to civic, cultural and urban-development projects. The converted Mirker Bahnhof hosts a mix of open workspace and meeting rooms alongside an on-site bar, lounge areas, outdoor terraces, event spaces and a music venue — a setup that draws solo freelancers, remote employees, startups and students in roughly equal measure. Day passes, ten-day tickets and monthly memberships keep commitment flexible, and a free trial day means newcomers can test the space before signing up for anything. Utopiastadt sits in Nordstadt, a dense historic residential quarter north of Elberfeld town centre. The surrounding streets are still largely car-oriented, but the Nordbahntrasse — a 22 km car-free cycling and walking route running along a former railway embankment — passes directly in front of the building, connecting the northern parts of Wuppertal without a car. Elberfeld centre, with its shops and restaurants, is a 10–15 minute walk downhill. For public transport, the Mirker Bahnhof bus stop is about two minutes on foot. Wuppertal Hauptbahnhof and the city's famous Schwebebahn monorail are roughly 15 minutes away, connecting Nordstadt to the wider rail network and the length of the Wupper valley. On-site car parking is available for those arriving by road, and a bike storage area and on-site bicycle hire cater to cyclists coming in off the Nordbahntrasse.
Come in from Mirker Strasse, across the forecourt of the old Mirker Bahnhof. The cafe inside the complex is the open front door, so on a first visit ask there and someone will take you through to the coworking rooms. This is a converted railway station rather than an office building, so there are stairs between levels; ask in advance if you need step-free access. Parking is available on the grounds. The Mirker Bahnhof bus stop is about two minutes away on foot, and Wuppertal Hauptbahnhof and the Schwebebahn are roughly fifteen minutes. If you cycle, the Nordbahntrasse runs directly past the building and you can ride up to the door.

Ein guter Ort um sich zu Treffen. Innen Gastronomie und Außengastronomie Direkt an der Nordbahntrasse. Ein Ort wo viel passiert Veranstaltungen Live-Musik Vorträge und und und dort gibt es auch ein Fahrradverleih ( Mittwoch und Sonntags ) Ein Reparatur-Café einmal im Monat. Schaut selber nach. : )

Ein echt tolles Projekt hat sich hier an der Nordtrasse niedergelassen. Herzstück ist natürlich "der Hutmacher" eine kleine Kneipe mit fairen Preisen und einer coole Attitüde. Aber auch die anderen Projekte in der Utopiastadt sind es wert sich anzusehen. Coworking, Werkstatt, Fahrradgruppen, Garten, Festivals... Da geht viel. Viel Glück für die Zukunft!
