The Nest is a small, creative coworking space in Hernals, Vienna's 17th district, set since 2019 in the halls of a former iron and coffee-mill factory from the Biedermeier era at Hormayrgasse 53. The founder's family has owned the colourful house with its painted sundial for generations, and the space is meant to feel more like a living room than an open-plan office. You work in bright halls with lots of daylight, wooden tables and a red-sofa lounge, with high-speed internet, all-you-can-drink coffee and tea and a fair-use printer. A separate room is reserved for Zoom meetings and phone calls, and a green courtyard garden with free-range chickens on a 300 m² yard is there for breaks in the sun. A day pass costs €25, the flex desk €179 a month for coworking five days a week, and the fix desk €269 a month with your own desk, 24/7 entry by smart lock, a postal address with a company sign and a second person free; all prices are plus 20% VAT. The team offers tours over coffee and tea on weekdays between 10:00 and 16:00, and the office is staffed Monday to Friday from 9:00 to 18:00.
This workspace is known to host a welcoming and inclusive community.

Review summary
Across 35 detailed Google reviews, The Nest in Vienna comes across as a calm, homely coworking space where the setting matters as much as the desk. Atmosphere is the most frequently praised aspect: members describe a warm, close-knit feel, with one saying "it has a family atmosphere". The people are a close second, with many reviewers mentioning friendly fellow members and a welcoming crowd, often in the same breath as the coffee, which comes up again and again as a highlight. What sets the space apart for many is its green courtyard, which one member called "a little oasis", and the chickens that live there, mentioned with obvious affection in a good number of reviews. The staff earn consistent praise for being helpful. Several reviewers value the place as a quiet escape from the city for focused work, pointing to a large, quiet working room and a dedicated room for video calls. Fast internet, a convenient location and well-kept facilities get positive mentions too, though less often. A couple of members highlight occasional live sessions, performances and concerts, and one review calls the space excellent value for money. None of the aspects members discuss drew negative comments in this set of reviews, so there are no recurring complaints to report; the smaller themes, such as events and pricing, rest on only a handful of mentions.

I needed a quite place to work while in Vienna and found the Nest. Patricia was amazing and helped get me settled in and setup in the co-work area. there is a small zoom room and a super relaxed vibe in the general facility. I would highly recommend this co-work for a quiet escape from the city for focussed work.

I was a member of Nest for several months and can highly recommend this co-working space. The atmosphere was super relaxed, the Zoom room was quiet, and the colleagues were lovely. The green courtyard was a little oasis with grapevines and cheerful chickens. I'd definitely come back.
