Techtelmechtel is a coworking space and meeting point for people who build digital products: product owners, developers, founders and freelancers. It fills a 330 m² former carpentry floor with high ceilings, large windows, rough industrial charm and a view over the city, with 45 desks for focus and community. Every desk has a large external monitor; coffee comes from a portafilter machine with two specialty roasts, plus milk alternatives and soft drinks. Four spacious phone booths keep calls out of the room, the kitchen is fully equipped, and two conference rooms for 2 to 12 people can be booked at member rates. Fixed-desk members get keyless 24/7 access; flex members work Monday to Friday, 9 to 17. The space describes itself as a safe space for women and LGBTQ+ people, with awareness as a house rule. Members can host their own evening events for the community for free, and meetups and workshops run through a public calendar. Clemens, Michael and Mira, who met here as members, took over the space at the end of 2025. Google reviewers praise the welcoming owners, the coffee and the events.

Techtelmechtel sits on Gürtelstraße in Friedrichshain, on the fourth floor of a former carpentry building near Ostkreuz. Ostkreuz is Berlin's largest interchange station, with the Ring, regional trains and S-Bahn lines in every direction; the operator puts it at five minutes' walk, and from there the S-Bahn reaches the Hauptbahnhof in about 18 minutes and runs direct to BER airport. The U-Bahn at Frankfurter Allee is about twelve minutes on foot, and a bus stop is four minutes away. The streets around are packed with restaurants, from Korean barbecue to sushi, so lunch is never a problem, and the Victoria-Center is about seven minutes away for errands.

A truly inspiring place in one of Berlin’s most vibrant areas, close to Ostkreuz. It feels a bit like a “shared flat for techies,” as one of the founders put it — and that description fits perfectly. The people are incredibly welcoming, and the atmosphere supports both collaboration and deep, focused work. Absolutely worth every minute.

Great co-working space in Berlin. Very close to Ostkreuz station with lots of restaurant close to the space. Good coffee and relatively quiet space.
