work.club Zandkasteel Amsterdam occupies one of the Dutch capital's most architecturally celebrated monumental buildings — freshly renovated and purpose-built for the modern professional. Situated at Bijlmerplein 888 in Amsterdam Zuidoost, the venue brings coworking desks, private offices (up to five people), and over ten meeting rooms together under a single storied roof. The offer scales to full event production: a 72-seat cinema auditorium with Dolby Surround Sound, a 150-standing-capacity Theatre Square, and a professional VIXY broadcast studio rated ISO27001-secure — capable of handling webinars, podcasts, and live-streamed productions. Design throughout foregrounds natural light, high ceilings, and indoor greenery. An in-house coffee bar and catering service keep teams fuelled across the day. Step-free access, a staffed reception lobby, and on-site ParkBee parking complement a three-minute walk from BijlmerArena train and metro connections. The building suits independent professionals, scaling teams, and event organizers who need premium AV capability alongside daily workspace — all in one destination.

Review summary
Across 40 detailed Google reviews, work.club Zandkasteel Amsterdam comes through as a centrally placed workspace that draws members with its location, competitive pricing, and a generally quiet, collegial atmosphere. The neighborhood earns consistent praise, with reviewers describing it as convenient and well-situated, and a handful note that the pricing feels fair relative to what Amsterdam typically demands. Those who have used the space for events or meetings point to "excellent meeting rooms," attentive catering, and a "super people and atmosphere" that makes collaborative gatherings feel easy. The quieter working environment is appreciated by focus-oriented members, and smaller positives around community feel, facilities, and the occasional organised event round out the day-to-day picture. That said, the review set is dominated by serious and recurring concerns that prospective members should weigh carefully. Cleanliness surfaces as a significant issue across multiple accounts, with references to flooding-related mold and bacterial contamination that several reviewers found unacceptable. Accessibility draws equally strong criticism — members note there is no adequate provision for people with mobility challenges. The aspect that generates the most negative commentary by volume, however, is management: reviewers repeatedly describe an ownership approach that feels indifferent to tenant welfare, with one characterising it as a landlord who "doesn't care about tenants." Pricing and equipment each attract a small number of critical notes as well, suggesting that the value proposition is inconsistent depending on the membership type or desk arrangement a member ends up with.
Members most consistently praise Location, Value for money, and Atmosphere. The most-raised point to know about is Staff & service.

The parking garage is quite a maze. Reserved and parked using the app, but it was a bit slow.

Hard to find if you don't know what it's called. Not all navigation systems recognize Sandcastle.

Mold and bacteria everywhere due to flooding several weeks ago, with no appropriate actions being taken. DO NOT COME HERE IF YOU CARE ABOUT YOUR HEALTH

Yeah, good place to live, nice building, good price. But the MVGM support is nonexistent. There was a flood in the building recently and they have done almost nothing for the whole MONTH. Now there is mold at the residents' entrance, stink in the bike garage, and to top it of, the main entrance is closed outside of business hours. Because of course, for business we show the good side, but for residents... well the resident can wait, right?

Awful building management, does not respond to any issues. Offices and bottom floors flooded, this took over a week to resolve with dangers of electrocution. Entrances are not properly functioning without any communication on which alternatives to use. I have already reached out directly and no response was given multiple times.
