Reception is staffed by a dedicated front-of-house team, lending the space a consistently managed, professional feel. The layout attracts a cross-sector mix of occupants — from independent creatives and developers to growing teams seeking private office suites — making it suited to solo operators and small companies alike. 70 White Lion Street, N1 9PP, London, United Kingdom
Angel Islington sits in the London Borough of Islington, one of inner north London's most established mixed-use neighbourhoods. The area is known for its independent restaurants, cafés, and boutiques along Upper Street, as well as the leisure and retail offer around Angel Central. The surrounding streets blend Georgian terraces with contemporary commercial buildings, giving the N1 postcode a character distinct from the City or Soho coworking clusters. Angel Underground Station (Northern line) provides direct access to the City and King's Cross in minutes, and multiple bus routes serve the junction. Farringdon, with its Elizabeth line and Thameslink connections, is reachable by a short bus or bike ride. The neighbourhood draws a particularly strong concentration of creative and technology businesses, meaning the professional ecosystem immediately around 70 White Lion Street is well-suited to independent workers and small teams operating in those sectors.
Spaces Angel Islington is at 70 White Lion Street, London N1 9PP, a short walk from Angel Underground Station on the Northern line.
Review summary
Across 29 detailed Google reviews, Spaces Angel Islington comes across as a well-located workspace in a lively part of north London, drawing members who value convenience alongside a productive, professional atmosphere. Staff are by far the most mentioned aspect of the experience, and the praise is consistent. Reviewers repeatedly highlight individual team members for their warmth and responsiveness — one member singles out "Isra" as "absolutely lovely and very helpful" — suggesting the front-of-house team genuinely shapes the day-to-day tone. The location earns its own strand of appreciation, with members noting the easy access to restaurants, shops, and transport links nearby. Those working in private offices tend to describe a quiet, focused environment, with several noting that rooms are effectively soundproofed, and the general atmosphere is described as conducive to both concentrated work and casual networking. On the physical side, most members find the space clean and well-presented, and the open areas draw positive remarks for their scale and light — though a small number feel the environment can be inconsistent in that respect. The clearest gaps centre on cost and contract terms, which attract the most concentrated criticism in the review set; several members feel the pricing lacks transparency and that certain advertised inclusions — coffee and tea among them — arrive as unexpected line items. Practical frustrations also surface around reliability, including reported periods of wifi outage and a lift that has remained out of service for an extended stretch.
Members most consistently praise Staff & service, Location, and Quiet & focus. The most-raised point to know about is Value for money.

BEWARE OF THIS COMPANY! On top of being excruciatingly incompetent when I was a member (until October 2024), Spaces Angel have since tried to charge me for services I have not used, long after my membership ceased. I am now receiving threatening emails from a collection agency for a charge or service I DID NOT USE. Despite multiple attempts to resolve, Arkadiusz (the only customer facing member of staff) is one of the most incompetent people I’ve ever had the misfortune of dealing with. USE AT YOUR OWN RISK

We subscribed to Spaces for the very first time £315 per month per person and came in today to this location, full of excitement to finally use the space. We had never been in this coworking before, so we carefully followed the instructions given on the website/app: sign up, pay, access with the app, choose a free desk, and use common areas. That’s exactly what we did. There was no information anywhere - neither online nor inside the building - that we must check in at reception first. No onboarding guidance, no signs, no staff visible when we arrived. We entered a completely empty room with desks and chairs. Nothing indicated that this area was private or restricted. We quietly sat down for about five minutes, thinking that if someone showed up, we would show our membership and ask what to do next. Suddenly, a man appeared later we learned he was one of the receptionist, who wasn’t present at the desk when we arrived. He came in and started speaking to us in a hostile and accusatory tone right away: • “What are you doing here?” • “You can’t sneak in like this!” • “Leave immediately!” We explained politely and calmly that it was our first day, we had paid memberships, and we genuinely didn’t know the procedure. We apologised and were already packing our things. But he continued raising his voice and treating us as if we had intentionally broken rules, which we didn’t even know existed. It felt like a completely unnecessary attack. We then went to the main reception still shaken and feeling like we did something awful — and only then met another receptionist, who at least tried to remain polite. Meanwhile, the first man continued speaking even to his colleague, blaming him for “letting us in,” while we were still standing there, feeling extremely uncomfortable and judged. We are two respectful adults who simply needed a bit of guidance as first-time, fully paying customers. Instead, we were spoken to like troublemakers, without any attempt to help or inform us of the correct process. As customers we expected: • A welcoming and safe environment • Clear instructions for new members • Professional and respectful communication • Friendly support when someone is confused for the first time We experienced none of this. This unpleasant interaction ruined our excitement and trust in Spaces before we even had a chance to start working. We sincerely hope the management takes this seriously. Nobody deserves to be treated like this , especially when the only “mistake” was a lack of clear guidance from Spaces.

The working environment with helpful members of staff especially Isra. Cleaners need to up their game as they are putting unnecessary pressure on the management.

This is a great place to have an office — modern, professional, and welcoming. The facilities are always well-maintained, creating a productive and comfortable working environment. A special mention goes to the reception team, Arkadiusz and Isra, who are consistently friendly, efficient, and ready to help with anything. Their professionalism and positive attitude make a real difference every day and truly enhance the overall experience of working here.
