Here East isn't a coworking space that happens to occupy a historic building — it's a 1.2-million-square-foot former Olympic Media Centre that has spent a decade becoming one of Europe's most ambitious tech and creative campuses. On any given day, game studios, UCL robotics researchers, dance companies, and V&A archivists share corridors with 800+ startups plugged into Plexal's innovation network — a community that counts Airbus, Google Cloud, and government partners among its connectors. Freelancers and founders work in spaces flooded with natural light, with barista coffee, phone booths, a food court, dedicated lounge areas, and daily cleaning all part of the fabric. Step-free access is built into the campus, which has explicitly positioned itself as an accessible hub for disability-led innovation, hosting Scope on site. Networking events, scholarship programmes, and a decade of community investment aren't afterthoughts here — they're the point. Dream big. Create at scale.

Here East sits within the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park in Hackney Wick, East London, bordered by the River Lea and a canalside promenade that's equally good for a lunchtime walk or after-work drinks. The campus's own canalside retail strip brings the neighbourhood to your doorstep: The Breakfast Club, Randy's Wing Bar, Saint Espresso, Change Please, Gotto Trattoria, Lock Inn, and Four Quarters arcade bar are all on site. Getting here is straightforward — free electric shuttles run regularly to and from Stratford station and Stratford International, putting the Elizabeth line, National Rail, and Eurostar connections within minutes. The nearest London Overground stop is Hackney Wick, a short walk away, with Leyton on the Central line also accessible. The Olympic Park's open green space, velodrome, and waterways make the surrounding area genuinely distinct from any other London coworking address.

Its setting on the edge of the Olympic Park in east London is frequently praised, with the canal-side surroundings, street food vendors, and coffee shops adding to the appeal. A free shuttle bus connects the campus to nearby Hackney Wick station, though some note the out-of-the-way location requires planning. It's a relatively nice place, with polite staff, a bit far out with no easy access. To cure that there is a free shuttle bus which you need to register for on their app and is too crowded, most of the times. Not many decent food with reasonable prices to eat. The few nearby eating places aren't "reasonably priced". The coffee machine inside the building serves below average coffee. I never been able to properly connect to the WiFi and always found myself settling to connect to the guest WiFi.
