Forty-five flex desks and 16 fixed desks fill the open floor, alongside phone booths, a lounge, adjustable-height desks, and the kind of high-speed Wi-Fi that actually holds up during video calls. With 600+ members — heavily freelancers, startups, and green-economy pioneers — Grünhof has quietly become one of southern Germany's most purposeful work communities. The neighbourhood has a distinctly emerging creative and light-industrial character — think workshops, studios, and maker spaces rather than shopping streets and chain cafés. It's off the beaten path by design, which means it's genuinely quiet once you're here. The most practical ways to arrive are by bike (Freiburg's cycling infrastructure is excellent and connects the Kreativpark well) or by car. Public transport does reach the area — the nearest major rail hub is Freiburg(Breisgau) Gbf, and the journey from Freiburg Hauptbahnhof takes under 20 minutes by bus or tram. The Grünhof Kreativpark Lokhalle is a great place to work and connect with people in Freiburg. The building is impressive, with a mix of history and modern design that makes it a very inspiring place. The coworking areas are bright, well-equipped, and comfortable, and the staff is always friendly and helpful.
