Espaço Coworking Alcobaça opened in January 2025 and is built around enclosed rooms rather than one big open floor: five private offices and five individual boxes. The boxes are one-person rooms with a door you can actually close, which is the point if you spend the day on calls. Two office types take up to two people — one comes furnished with desks and chairs, the other empty if you would rather bring your own setup. A meeting room seats up to twelve and has a screen and whiteboard for presentations or training sessions. Members get 24/7 access, fibre internet, free coffee and tea, an equipped kitchen and a terrace. Owner Tiago Jorge is on site during staffed hours, and reviewers mention the welcome about as often as the desks. A breakfast, coffee or lunch roughly every two weeks keeps the group connected — mostly local freelancers, remote employees and small teams working in marketing, software, engineering, real estate and consulting.

Espaço Coworking Alcobaça sits on Rua Luís de Camões, near Alcobaça's volunteer fire station and municipal stadium, about ten minutes on foot from the old centre. Almost everything is walkable: the Mercado Municipal is around five minutes away, and Continente Modelo, Minipreço and SPAR all fall inside the same radius for a lunch run. Pizzaria Rotunda is a minute from the door, while Esplanada do Artur, Pastelaria Dom José and Havaneza Cafetaria sit four to five minutes out when you want to take a coffee meeting off-site. The Monastery of Alcobaça — the UNESCO-listed Cistercian abbey the town is known for — anchors that old centre, with the Jardim dos Paços do Concelho and the Palácio da Justiça gardens on the way there. Those gardens are the obvious spot for a screen-free break. Alcobaça is a driving town rather than a transit one. Local buses stop on the street outside, municipal car parks sit by the stadium and the market, and the nearest train station, Valado–Nazaré–Alcobaça, is about 5 km out toward the coast.
The space is on the ground floor (R/C) at Rua Luís de Camões C, next to Alcobaça's volunteer fire station. Ring at the entrance during staffed hours — Monday to Friday 08:00–20:00, Saturday 09:00–17:00 — and someone will let you in and show you round. Members get their own access and can come and go 24 hours a day once they are set up.
Parking is free on site. The municipal car parks at the stadium and the Mercado Municipal are both about five minutes away on foot if the on-site spaces are full. Local buses stop within a minute's walk on Rua Luís de Camões. Arriving by train means Valado–Nazaré–Alcobaça, roughly 5 km out, so plan a taxi or a lift for the last stretch. First visits and new access are arranged with the team in advance.
A day in an individual box costs €15, and the first day is free for new visitors. A week is €55 and a month is €100. Prices are quoted before Portuguese VAT at 23%, and monthly plans run on a three-month minimum.

Great coworking space! I was able to book a desk on very short notice and received a warm welcome. The owner is incredibly friendly and helpful. Everything is modern, clean, and well organized, creating a great atmosphere to work in. I would definitely come back and highly recommend it!

An incredible space to work and socialize. Tiago has managed to bring together the best of both worlds: comfort, hospitality, and community. I have always been made to feel welcome, and I have had the opportunity to meet lots of people from all corners of the world. There are events where we can socialize, meet people, and share knowledge. In addition to coworking, I ended up meeting people and putting projects I had in mind into practice. I highly recommend going and becoming part of the community.

It's honestly one of the nicest coworking spaces I've been to. Super modern and well set up, but what really makes it great is how friendly everyone is. There's a really relaxed, welcoming vibe — like people actually say hi and chat a bit without it feeling forced. And the owner is amazing — super down-to-earth, always around to help, and just genuinely wants everyone to feel comfortable. It kind of feels like working from a cozy, productive second home. At the same time, everything's really professional — fast Wi-Fi, proper desks and chairs, quiet enough to focus, and just really well organized. It strikes a perfect balance between feeling relaxed and still being a place where you can actually get things done.
