Midori-sō isn't named after a colour — it's named after the ivy that swallowed an abandoned building in Nakameguro until someone decided that was exactly right. The vines stayed. So did the spirit. Today the renovated, ivy-covered space is home to a multinational constellation of artists, freelancers, and independent thinkers who believe work should feel more like play — what the team calls *omoshiroi*, joyful curiosity in motion. The ground floor lounge-first layout is deliberately un-corporate: sofas over standing desks, conversation over silence. A dedicated gallery on the third floor is rentable for art exhibitions, commercial shoots, and photography projects. Membership unlocks 24/7 access plus cross-location entry at seven other Midori-sō sites across Tokyo — so your workspace moves with your mood. If you've been searching for a creative coworking space in Meguro City that feels less like an office and more like a manifesto brought to life, you've found it.

Midori-sō sits in Aobadai, Meguro — inside the Nakameguro/Daikanyama corridor, one of Tokyo's most design-conscious residential-creative neighbourhoods. The streets around it are quiet and tree-lined, yet independent cafés, boutiques, and galleries are never more than a short stroll away — the kind of neighbourhood that makes a lunchtime wander feel genuinely worthwhile. Transit access is flexible. The closest walk is 8 minutes from Shinsen Station (Keio Inokashira Line); Nakameguro and Shibuya stations are both around 10 minutes on foot, and Ikejiri-Ohashi and Daikanyama stations are roughly 12 minutes away. If you prefer the bus, the Aobadai 2-chome stop on the Tokyu Transe Bus puts you just 2 minutes from the door. There is no on-site parking, so public transit or cycling is the way to go — fitting, perhaps, for a space that's always been a little off the beaten path.
The venue is located at 3-3-11 Aobadai, Meguro-ku, Tokyo. It is an 8-minute walk from Shinsen Station, a 10-minute walk from Shibuya and Nakameguro Stations, and a 12-minute walk from Ikejiri-Ohashi and Daikanyama Stations. It is also a 2-minute walk from the Aobadai 2-chome bus stop (Tokyu Transe Bus). Reception is located in the Main Building on the 2nd floor. The Omoya Building (separate structure on-site) houses private offices on the 1st and 2nd floors. No on-site parking is available.

Absolutely the best coworking space I've ever been to. Great community, and the team running it feels more like friends than just people doing their job. If you're a foreigner staying in Japan a bit longer and want to tap into the local creative and art scene while having an awesome place to work, this is the spot.
