Acme Works has been one of Toronto's original coworking spaces since 2013 — and a decade-plus on, it still feels like the kind of place where somebody actually knows your name (and probably your dog's too). Spread across 10,000 sq ft of a characterful heritage building on Niagara Street, it's warm, a little scrappy in the best way, and genuinely community-first. Staff members Christine, Ross, and Bryce are at the door to greet you — and just as likely to loop you into a potluck or karaoke night as to help you find a phone booth. The rooftop patio, games room with ping pong and pool, daily dog parade, and free local coffee aren't afterthoughts — they're the whole vibe. Memberships run from $35 day passes up to private offices, all month-to-month with no long-term commitment. Freelancers, startups, and small teams who want a coworking community instead of just a desk have called Acme home for years. Curious? Come for a free tour — and stay for the day on us.
229 Niagara Street, M6J 2L5, Toronto, Canada
Acme Works sits at 229 Niagara Street in Toronto's King West / Niagara neighbourhood, tucked between Adelaide St W and Stanley Ave. The area is one of Toronto's most walkable stretches — Wallace Espresso at 848 King St W and Simit and Chai at 787 King St W are both a short stroll for your morning ritual, while Morso Me (850 King St W) and Tatsu Sushi (791 Queen St W) handle lunch. When you need to step away from the screen, Stanley Park (700 Wellington St W) and Trinity Bellwoods Park (790 Queen St W) are both nearby. UFO, right next door at 241 Niagara, is a handy neighbour too. Getting here is easy: TTC streetcar service runs along King Street, and the nearest subway is Osgoode station. Prefer two wheels? Bicycle parking sits directly outside the front door. Paid car parking is available nearby for those driving in.

Recently my company hosted an event at Acme Works and it was the best decision we could have made! Everything from the atmosphere to the community manager was absolutely perfect. I would highly recommend checking this space out to host your next event or even if you're just looking to find a place to ger your 9-5 done!

I've been working out of Acme for a couple years and highly recommend it. There is always space to work at the hot desks, good wifi, call rooms, proper desk chairs, coffee included and close to lots of lunch spots. Best of all, Bryce and the staff are friendly and have built a great community here so it's easy to socialize with other members if you want that as well.

Acme Works is the perfect spot if you're looking for a laid-back, startup vibe rather than a stuffy corporate atmosphere. It’s a great place to meet like-minded people and work in an open, collaborative space. The events they host are a nice way to break up the workweek and keep things fresh. It’s definitely a solid choice for anyone looking for a change of pace from the usual office setup.

For several years I've been coming to Acme on and off when I needed to get out of the house for one reason or another...but over the past year, I've realized that planning to have a few days a week at a coworking space is REALLY helpful for me as a freelancer with ADHD! I've now been coming so regularly that I've upgraded to a membership. It's a really great space -- big and open, and not stuffy and corporate like some coworking places I've tried. Everyone's chill, friendly, and I find myself feeling really focused when I'm here. I also really appreciate that they even have drop-in rates, because a lot of co-working spaces in the city only offer full-time memberships, which isn't always the right choice for a freelancer like myself!
Acme Works offers Free Tea, Game Area, 24/7 Access, Phone Booths, Lounge Area, Printer & Copier/Scanner, Pet Friendly, Rooftop Terrace and 16 more amenities.
