NEST CoWork & Play is a family-friendly coworking and community space in Hamburg-Uhlenhorst for parents of babies and toddlers up to five, founded by two mothers and open since March 2026. You work in a quiet workspace with designer chairs, high-back acoustic sofas, a privacy booth and a private meeting room, while your child plays a few steps away in one of two Montessori-inspired play areas, looked after by professional educators. Parents of very young babies can use desks with attached play-pens or desks for babywearing. There is also a nap room with blackout curtains and a baby monitor, a quiet breastfeeding zone, child-sized bathrooms and a Family Café with coffee, cakes and snacks that is open to the public. Coworking and childcare are booked in three-hour slots between 9:00 and 18:00: a day pass with up to nine hours of childcare costs €45, and monthly memberships range from Light at €197 to Full at €624, with the 12th month free on a yearly plan. Baby plans without childcare start at €98.50 a month, and the space runs classes, workshops and meetups for parents.

NEST is on Hofweg in Uhlenhorst, a residential district on the eastern side of the Außenalster that is laced with canals: the Hofwegkanal and the Uhlenhorster Kanal are only a few steps away, and the shore of the Alster is under a kilometre from the door. The Uhlenhorster Fährhaus stop is around 500 metres away. The Zimmerstraße bus stop is right outside the building, and Mundsburg U-Bahn station on the U3 is about a kilometre's walk, so you can get here with a pram without needing a car. Quiet side streets and the paths along the water make it easy to fit a walk into the day before pick-up.

Review summary
Across 26 detailed Google reviews, NEST CoWork & Play in Hamburg comes across as a cozy coworking space with a strong personal touch, where the people running it shape much of the experience. Atmosphere leads the feedback, with one member describing “a family atmosphere, a wonderful team”. The owners are a big part of that impression, and reviewers repeatedly call them genuinely friendly. Just as often, members say the space is calm and well designed and actually helps them get focused work done. Food and drink come up frequently as well, with the coffee earning particular praise. Smaller themes round out the picture. A couple of reviewers describe it as relaxed and affordable, and others call everything very clean, cozy and lovingly decorated. Thoughtful details stand out too, such as a baby swing in the restroom, which fits the play side of the name. Alongside the open space there is a phone booth for calls, and one reviewer found the venue perfect for a first gathering. Criticism is rare. Single reviews strike a less positive note on the atmosphere, the hosts and the food and drink, but they stand against a clearly positive majority. Beyond that, the reviews say little about internet speed or meeting rooms, so if those matter to you, it is worth asking before you commit.
Members most consistently praise Atmosphere, Staff & service, and Coffee & food.

When I first read about NEST, I was immediately very curious to learn more about the place. I first met Delia, and she gave me the opportunity to organize my first event as part of Mütter Bridge project to build a support community for migrant mothers in Hamburg. The venue was perfect for this first gathering. The children can play while the adults chat over coffee. Everything is thoughtfully designed to keep the little ones safe and ensure they have fun! There’s even a baby swing in the restroom to set the baby down—who else but someone who’s already been in a difficult situation would think of that? I’m completely won over and highly recommend this space! Congratulations on this initiative, and I wish you, Delia, and Melissa lot of success in the future!

What a great place! For me, as a working mother, it's truly invaluable to have a place where I can go with my child to still get a few hours of focused work done.
