Metropol Coworking is a shared workspace in central Melilla run by local operator Metropol Next. More than 30 flexible hot desks share one floor with three individual acoustic booths for calls and video calls, included for space users, so conversations do not have to happen at your desk. A stepped seating tier at the back turns the same floor into a room for talks, training sessions and launches with up to 30 people. The fit-out is new throughout — reviewers single out the furniture quality and how bright the room is — and the unit runs on building automation: lighting, climate control and door access all trigger from a personal entry code, so there is no reception queue. A café bar with counter seating, a lounge corner and personal lockers sit near the entrance. Metropol Coworking sits in the Reina Victoria quarter, the grid of streets that makes up central Melilla — a Spanish autonomous city on the North African coast rather than the mainland. The quarter is better known as the Golden Triangle: roughly 900 modernist and Art Deco buildings stand here, the largest concentration in Spain after Barcelona, many of them by Enrique Nieto, who trained under Gaudí. Plaza de España, with the Palacio de la Asamblea and Casa Melul, is about five minutes away on foot. A working day is well covered within a block — Cafetería Garnata and Churrería Lepanto for coffee, Sidrería Astur and Restaurante Mar de Alborán for lunch, and the Pasaje Avenida shopping arcade four minutes off. Melilla has no metro or tram; eight COA city bus lines are the public network, and the closest stop is at Plaza de España. The ferry terminal for sailings to mainland Spain is roughly twelve minutes on foot, and the airport a short taxi ride.
Access runs on a smart lock with a personal entry code, not fixed door-opening hours. Monday to Friday you can come and go flexibly; reception is staffed 09:00–21:00. On Saturdays and Sundays the space is available on prior notice — tell the team in advance and they activate your access. If you buy a day pass, access is enabled for that day: on weekdays you simply walk in, at the weekend let them know beforehand.

I recently came to the city for a work trip and urgently needed a professional space to get things done in Melilla. Finding Metropol Coworking was an absolute lifesaver! It's the ideal space to work in peace or meet with colleagues or clients in a central, urban setting. The best part is that it's available to you 24/7! Need to use it at 2:00 AM? No problem... The space is fully automated and ready for you to open and start up yourself simply by opening the front door (everything turns on automatically). It's fantastic.
