FRICT. Amsterdam is a creative coworking community at Hoogte Kadijk 400 in Amsterdam-Oost, set up in 2025 by three creative entrepreneurs in a raw, open space. It brings together entrepreneurs, artists, freelancers, designers, photographers, hairdressers, video makers and musicians, and offers flex desks, a photo and video studio with the largest limbowall in East Amsterdam, a podcast studio, a meeting table for ten, an event space for workshops, expos and pop-ups, and salon chairs for hair and beauty entrepreneurs. Desks are electrically adjustable sit-stand duo desks with power at every place, plus fast Wi-Fi, good coffee and chill zones. A hot desk costs €25 a day (access 08:00–20:00), flex desking €75 for five days of your choice with three hours of meeting-room use a week, and a fixed desk with locker, 24/7 access and unlimited meeting-room use €195 a month. The 50 m² studio costs €65 an hour, €195 for four hours or €350 for six, and podcast sessions start at €195. Team packs for 2–6 people are available. To keep the community balanced, new members join through a waiting list.

Hoogte Kadijk runs along the edge of the Kadijken and the Entrepotdok in Amsterdam-Oost, a historic waterside area of former warehouses and wharves between the city centre and the Eastern Docklands. The Artis zoo, the Hortus Botanicus and the Plantage neighbourhood are a short walk away, as are the National Maritime Museum and NEMO on the water. Buses stop on the Hoogte Kadijk itself, and Weesperplein metro and Amsterdam Muiderpoort station are within easy cycling distance. The canals and quays around the Entrepotdok are lined with cafés and terraces that make for an easy lunch or after-work drink.

For my 22nd birthday, I had a photoshoot done by Studio ZuidOost. With Mr. Philip! From the very beginning, I felt at ease thanks to his professional and relaxed approach. He created a pleasant atmosphere, with music in the background, which made the entire shoot feel very natural and enjoyable. What I particularly appreciated was how he ensured I felt comfortable, which is truly visible in the photos. The quality of the photos is beautiful and exceeds my expectations. This experience was not only fun for me but also very valuable, and I would certainly recommend him to anyone looking for a professional and personal photoshoot.
