Village Underground Lisboa is a one-of-a-kind creative campus built from repurposed shipping containers and a vintage double-decker bus, perched on the edge of the Tagus River in Alcântara. What started as a coworking refuge for artists and creative professionals has grown into a multi-format world of its own — open-air container stage, esplanada, restaurant, bar, and a music venue that swings from afternoon sun sessions to 6AM techno, kizomba, and samba nights. The coworking offer sits inside this same industrial-riverside character: 24/7 access, high-speed Wi-Fi, a reception desk, and river views framed by Ponte 25 de Abril. Creative residencies and workshops run alongside the cultural programming, meaning your neighbours here are artists, musicians, and makers with something to say. Many events are free with RSVP — a deliberate choice that keeps the community genuinely open. Where cultures meet, and where the work you do has a very good soundtrack.
Experience the personal touch of a coworking space that's locally owned and managed, fostering a unique community spirit.
Lots of networking events are taking place at this workspace.
52 Avenida da Índia, 1300-299, Lisbon, Portugal
Village Underground Lisboa sits on Avenida da Índia in Alcântara, right beside the Tagus River with unobstructed views of Ponte 25 de Abril. The industrial-riverside neighbourhood is part of the venue's identity — a motorway flyover and passing planes are part of the soundscape, and the surrounding warehouse architecture and street art lean into it. LX Factory, one of Lisbon's best-loved creative markets and restaurant clusters, is a short walk away, making lunchtime and after-work easy. Getting here is straightforward: take Tram 15E from Cais do Sodré or Praça da Figueira directly to the area, or ride the Metro Green Line to Cais do Sodré and connect onward by tram or bus. Buses 714, 727, and 728 serve the LX Factory stop, a brief walk from the venue. Alcântara-Terra train station is also nearby. On-site car parking is available for those arriving by car.

Went to an AfroLisbon and Saga party event while visiting from Los Angeles, and it was a damn good time. I know that's more about the event, but I had a look around before heading in and will definitely return to see it during the day. Super cool concept!

Cool concept, but it would be cooler if it was connected in with lx factory.

Village Underground is a very cool place. Perfect for people looking for an alternative place to chill with some friends while listening to good music. It’s like entering “the underground” because the whole bar is built around containers and broken buses that were renovated inside. You can even walk the steel stairs inside the container “labyrinth” and have a view into the abandoned train station. We went in a “open air” day so it was free, which was a bonus, techno and house music was playing and the vibe was unmatched! Everyone feels comfortable, and like they can be who they are. The so called “dance floor” is a little small which can be a problem for bigger parties outside, but there was a lot of space around it with swings and cool dancing benches! The night was not crowded so it was perfect for a nice chill night! After a party inside started and we didn’t stay for it but it went until 6AM and the price is only 15euros which doesn’t seem expensive for lisbon.

A nice vibe at this place. The motorway may be behind you and above your head, planes may be flying over every few minutes, but have a drink, listen to some great music and make new friends. And admire the local street art all around too. Food was great and you can eat on the bus if you want too :-D

Nice and chill cafe with some underground/abandoned vibe, made up of containers and buses. It’s a very beautiful location and it is very close to the Ponte 25 de Abril, so I would recommend to stop here to take a drink before going to visit the bridge, which is just 50 meters away.
