The Ministry at 79-81 Borough Rd is a private members' club and coworking space born from the Ministry of Sound — housed in a converted Victorian warehouse that trades industrial bones for a genuinely comfortable place to work. Private offices sit alongside quiet focus zones, lounges, and a 75-ft bar, while a terrace garden and sofas give you somewhere to decompress mid-afternoon. The on-site food court and deli serve actual meals worth returning for, and the coffee earns its keep too. A full fitness facility — well-maintained and generously spaced — sets it apart from the standard coworking stack. Pet-friendly, 24/7 accessible, and equipped with meeting rooms and high-speed Wi-Fi, The Ministry suits freelancers, startups, and creative businesses who want more than a desk. With a 4.6 Google rating and a programme that runs from classical concerts to industry events, this is a workspace that doubles as a genuine destination.

79-81 Borough Rd, SE1 1DN, London
The Ministry sits on Borough Road in SE1, one of London's most walkable and well-connected neighbourhoods. Borough Market — one of the city's most celebrated food destinations — is a short walk north, making it easy to grab lunch well beyond the usual sandwich. The surrounding streets offer a strong mix of independent cafés, restaurants, and lunchtime spots that reviewers consistently single out as a perk of the address. Elephant & Castle station (Northern and Bakerloo lines) is minutes away on foot, and Borough station (Northern line) is also within easy reach, giving solid tube access across the city. Waterloo mainline station is a manageable walk or quick bus ride for intercity and Overground connections. The broader Bankside and Bermondsey area has established itself as a hub for creative and media businesses, meaning The Ministry's neighbours tend to share a similar working style.
Access The Ministry, Borough | Workspace & Members’ Club via the main entrance at 79-81 Borough Rd. Visitors must check in at the reception desk situated in the lobby, which is open from 8 AM to 10 PM. The building is equipped with elevators for easy access to all floors. A security team is present, ensuring a safe work environment, and CCTV is in operation. Bike storage is available for cyclists, though parking slots for cars are limited in the vicinity and public transport is recommended.

I attended a work event here recently. Must say I was really impressed by this venue. It has a really cool vibe while also having a sense of inspiration about the place when you are working there. The hot desking, meeting rooms and deli/cafe are excellent facilities. Hope to visit the Ministry again in the future.

I really liked this working space, they have AC perfect for the summer! The selection of pastries and food is really diverse, and the coffee is also perfectly done! I like that they have a terrace garden and a lot of sofas. I also enjoy the gym classes and gym there. All the facilities are immaculate and good wi-fi. I feel really motivated here. Thank you for the lovely staff as well, Denis, George, Jemima and Nikita were fantastic and really kind! The Italian barista knows how to make a good coffee! Will come back for sure.

Love this place so much! There’s tons of space to work without feeling cramped, and the atmosphere is calm but still gives you that little productivity kick. The food? Delicious. Like, actual food I’d come back for even if I wasn’t working 😅 But the real plot twist was the gym — it’s huge, stylish, and has personalised video training to guide you through workouts (perfect for people like me who just stare at dumbbells wondering what to do). I even managed to squeeze in a yoga class, and it felt like the perfect little reset after work. This spot has everything — work, workouts, and a chill vibe for winding down with friends. Also want to give a big shoutout to the lovely girl at reception (wish I got her name!) — she made me feel super welcome and was just genuinely kind and helpful.

Fantastic All-in-One Workspace & Wellness Spot! The co-working membership offers a fantastic range of spaces – quiet zones for focus, comfy lounges for chats. The gym is exceptional: modern, well-maintained equipment, plenty of space, and a really positive vibe. Towel service is a nice touch! I went as well for a yoga class. Truly excellent class with skilled, attentive teacher, that left me feeling amazing! Highly recommend!

I had the pleasure of attending a classical music concert at The Ministry London, part of the Candlelight series, and it was a truly enchanting evening. The venue itself is intimate yet spacious, with a warm and inviting atmosphere that made the experience feel special. The music was absolutely beautiful and well-curated. A big shout-out to the bartender the girl with tattoos and Daniel were incredibly kind and welcoming. The drinks were not only delicious but also very reasonably priced perfect for enjoying before or after the performance. , The Ministry is a hidden gem in London. Great ambience, great service, I’ll come back.
