Neue Areal is a creative hub, coworking space, café bar, and event venue that opened in September 2025 in Kempten's Parkstadt Engelhalde district. Born from the legacy of the Gründervilla (Kempten's beloved coworking pioneer since 2014), the founders brought a decade of community-building experience into a completely reimagined concept. The space is designed around a "work with friends" philosophy — attracting freelancers, creatives, founders, and small teams who thrive in an inspiring, collaborative atmosphere. Interiors are thoughtfully crafted with clean lines, quality materials, and a strong sustainability ethos: circular economy principles, secondhand and upcycled furniture, and locally sourced materials are at the core of the design identity. The offering spans flexible coworking memberships (day passes, flex desks, fix desks, and team islands), private offices ranging from 24.5 to 200 m², meeting and workshop rooms, a show kitchen for culinary pop-ups and tastings, an outdoor area for up to 150 guests, and a café bar (housed in the former gatehouse) serving barista coffee, breakfast, lunch, and snacks. Virtual office services including a registered business address, mail and scan service are also available. All fixed-desk members enjoy 24/7 digital access. The community regularly hosts events, workshops, and pop-up markets, making Neue Areal distinctly more than just a workspace.

Neue Areal sits in Parkstadt Engelhalde, a new creative quarter being developed by Sozialbau Kempten in central Kempten (Allgäu). The Engelhalde-Park is immediately around the corner — a welcome green escape between meetings. Multiple restaurants and cafés are within 5–10 minutes on foot or by bike, so lunch options are never a problem. Getting here is straightforward: bus stop "Leonhardstraße" (line 30) is directly outside the building, and the ring line R8 stop is a few minutes' walk away. Kempten (Allgäu) Hbf is reachable by public transport with no hassle. Cyclists have dedicated bike parking right in front of the entrance. Car users will find free street parking in the surrounding area; a fixed parking spot can also be rented separately. The area is well served by public transport, and the mix of greenery, new development, and local amenities gives Parkstadt Engelhalde a distinct up-and-coming energy.
