Coworking Happy Folks is the desk-sharing offer of Hommu Studio, a Barcelona design studio that rents spare desks in its own renovated attic office on Carrer de Casp to freelancers and professionals looking for a creative, cheerful and respectful place to work. The room gets plenty of natural light from the east, and each member has an independent 160 x 90 cm desk with a white wooden privacy screen, a shelf and a low shelf, a lockable metal cabinet and a new swivel chair. Fibre internet runs at 300/300 Mb over Wi-Fi or LAN, and there is air conditioning and heating, an alarm and weekly cleaning. A separate meeting room seats seven and has a 32-inch smart TV, the kitchen has a fridge, coffee maker and microwave, and there is a 6 m² outdoor terrace, plus, the team jokes, geeky conversations about TV series. A fixed desk costs €185 a month and the meeting room €25 an hour when booked in advance, both plus 21% VAT. The studio asks for a one-month deposit and a minimum stay of two months, and members get their own key for weekday access until 22:00. The studio currently lists six desks as available.

Tetuan station on metro line L2 is a few minutes away on foot, and Arc de Triomf on line L1 is a short walk further, so the centre and the rest of the city are quick to reach. Walk down Passeig de Sant Joan past the Arc de Triomf and you reach the Parc de la Ciutadella for a break outdoors.

I couldn't have been happier than sharing space at Hommu Studio, where I've been able to work for over a year. Spacious tables and enough room to create your ideal workspace, plenty of light, and above all, a great atmosphere. If you're looking to avoid the large coworking spaces in Barcelona, this one is perfect!
