ZI8 Coworking und Event Space in Vienna's 9th district is unlike any coworking you've worked from before. Housed in a century-old former workshop on Zimmermanngasse 8, the space keeps its original brick vaults and concrete floors intact — an industrial-retro character that was designed and self-renovated by the founders themselves. That hands-on, personal touch shows in everything: from the warm welcome at the door to the international community of developers, designers, filmmakers, and architects who call ZI8 home. The 200 m² across ground and lower-ground floors stays impressively quiet — reviewers consistently mention how easy it is to concentrate here, even in summer when the cellar stays naturally cool. When your team needs to gather, the 110 m² event space fits up to 45 people and is bookable by the hour, complete with underfloor heating. Regular social events keep the community genuinely connected — this is coworking built around people, not just desks.
Enjoy the flexibility of a workspace that's open around the clock, catering to your unique work schedule.

8 Zimmermanngasse, 1090, Vienna, Austria
ZI8 sits in Alsergrund, Vienna's 9th district — a quiet, characterful neighbourhood where 19th-century residential streets meet the academic energy of the University of Vienna, just a short walk away. The area is well served by public transport: U6 Alser Straße is a literal one-minute walk from the front door, trams 43 and 44 stop at Hernalser Gürtel (2 min) and Brünnlbadgasse (3 min), and bike parking sits directly outside the entrance. EV charging is available outside the building for those arriving by car. The surrounding streets offer independent cafés, bakeries, and lunch spots typical of the Alsergrund neighbourhood — a calmer, more local feel than the 1st district, while remaining close enough to the city centre to reach it in minutes. The university quarter draws a creative and international crowd, which makes the area feel like a natural extension of what's happening inside ZI8 itself.
The space is located at Zimmermanngasse 8, 1090 Vienna, on the ground and lower-ground floors. The main entrance faces the street with bike parking directly in front. EV charging is available just outside the building. The nearest U-Bahn stop is U6 Alser Straße, approximately 1 minute on foot. Trams 43 and 44 stop at Hernalser Gürtel (2 min walk) and Brünnlbadgasse (3 min walk). Fixed-desk members receive a personal key for 24/7 access; flex-desk members access the space Monday–Friday 9am–6pm during staffed hours.

Its location in Vienna's 9th district, close to the city centre and the university, is frequently mentioned as a strength. The basement event space, equipped with a projector and flipcharts, draws positive feedback for seminars, meetups, and presentations. One reviewer reported a booking cancellation two weeks before their event with poor communication, which they found unprofessional.

ZI8 Coworking & Event Space is a special place with a very pleasant atmosphere, centrally located in Vienna's 9th district. Owners Igor and Zahar have built a vibrant community. There's even a ping-pong table for members, as well as lockers and mailboxes for virtual offices. All in all, it's the place to go if you're looking for a cozy place to work and attend local Viennese community events with creative and international businesses.
