STUDIO52 is a small coworking space and photo studio in Poblenou, run since 2013 by a photographer who is on site most days, with room for no more than twelve coworkers. Most members are freelancers in photography, video, design, communication and marketing, and the mood is calm and friendly – a place for focused work rather than all-day phone calls. Once you sign, your desk is yours: a place at a shared table costs €120 a month and an individual two-metre desk €160 (plus VAT), with four or eight free hours of studio time a month, and a day at a free desk costs €25. You get your own key for 24/7 access, 600 Mb symmetric Wi-Fi plus a cable connection, a colour printer (50 pages a week), shelving for your things, air conditioning and a kitchen with an open-air patio. Half of the room gets daylight all day, the other half has dimmable light for image editing. The 47 m² photo and video studio with Profoto lighting and a built cyclorama rents for €30 an hour (two-hour minimum) or from €20 an hour with a 20-hour pack, with 20% off for coworkers. The first month is 20% off, and you can try a full day for free.
