Officina Kreuzberg is a shared workspace run by the people who work in it: there is no operator and no reception. The collective of freelancers and remote workers from software, design, research, architecture, policy and communication – many working with NGOs and social projects – rents the space together and shares the work of running it, from bills to the kitchen, website and events. Joining means taking on a small part of that. Members choose a fixed desk of their own, with round-the-clock access including weekends, or a shared flex desk for three days a week plus weekends. Fast internet, a printer, coffee and tea, a large kitchen and a terrace for shared lunches and after-work drinks are included; the door opens via a phone app. The space is on the ground floor, and there is no phone booth – calls and small meetings happen in the basement, which works but is not a proper meeting room. There is no deposit and no minimum term, and new people are invited to a free trial day with lunch. Google reviewers describe a friendly, informal community that often becomes friends.
