Hyggelig is a small coworking space in Intendente, Lisbon, with 16 desks in a refurbished old apartment with a wooden floor and plenty of daylight. It was founded in 2020 by Nikolaj and Nídia, a Danish-Azorean couple, and Nikolaj runs it while working there himself, so regulars know it as 'Nik's place'. The name comes from the Danish 'hygge', and the fit-out follows Nordic design: clean and functional, but warm. Every desk is height-adjustable for sitting or standing, with an ergonomic chair. There is one product: a monthly plan at €220 plus 23% VAT with a dedicated desk, 24/7 access, gigabit internet and Wi-Fi 6, a printer and scanner, a storage locker, a stocked kitchen with free coffee, tea and cookies, a phone booth and a small meeting room bookable at no extra cost. There are no day or week passes and no minimum stay, and a free trial day can be booked on weekdays between 9:00 and 18:00. Members include software developers, designers, startup founders, journalists and coaches.
